ECNZ Requirements
All Textilia at work* ‘ECNZ Eco-Labelled’ textiles have the distinct Environmental Choice logo displayed, which certifies their compliance with the following stringent criteria:
- Manufactured in New Zealand.
- No chromium, carcinogenic or metal complexes that are toxic to reproduction.
- No dyes based on copper, chromium or nickel.
- No bleaching processes releasing AOX emissions.
- No pigment in processing.
- Controlled use of phosphates.
- Encouraging energy and water use efficiencies.
- Encouraging biodegradability of chemicals used within processing treatments.
- Using raw materials from eco-accredited suppliers.
- To ensure fitness for purpose and application e.g durability.
- Ensures that the entire manufacturing process is working within government acts and regulations for consents and permits.
- Reducing hazardous substances used in production processes e.g. no heavy metals or formaldehyde in chemical processing.
